What is Bigfoot?

What is a Bigfoot? What if Bigfoot is an alien? What if Bigfoot is a spirit? What if Bigfoot is from another dimension? In order to unlock the Bigfoot mystery we must ask these questions and more.

What is a Bigfoot?
Is Bigfoot a missing link, alien or a paranormal entity? We know spirits can look like living people and affect our physical environment in many ways. This could be a clue. A body would have been found by now, unless the creatures bury their dead, and that would involve burial sites which have not been found. So what is it that people have been witnessing? If Bigfoot is an extraterrestrial hybrid this could explain why the creature is so illusive. Perhaps Bigfoot is a creature from another dimension?

Mankind's quest for physical evidence may be keeping us from comprehending the complete nature of the Bigfoot phenomenon. Searching for Bigfoot like it's a wild animal has yielded little evidence. A large land creature of this size, seen around the world in all types of environments would have been captured by now. We need to rethink our views about Bigfoot if we are to solve this mystery.

Is Bigfoot an Alien?
Many people have reported seeing large hairy beings emerging from UFO's. There have been UFO sightings reported at the same time Bigfoot encounters have occurred, along with cattle mutilations shortly after.

Examples of Bigfoot & UFO Activity
Presque Isle incident of 1966.  During that encounter, witnesses observed a strange looking craft descend into a wooded area, lighting up the woods.  Coming out of this same area witnesses observed “a dark, featureless, gorilla like humanoid about six feet tall walking toward them.”  The Presque Isle incident is a particularly good one because it was well documented at the time, and witnesses have continued to talk about it.  There were suspicions that a hot air balloon could account for the UFO, at least, but researchers have made a good showing that wind patterns and weather noted for that day make this explanation very unlikely.  The creature, whatever it was, left foot impressions in the sand, so it appears to have been a physical thing and not a hallucination.

A case from 1969 is even more remarkable,  It describes an encounter between two boys and a huge Bigfoot-like creature.  According to the tale, the creature picked the boys up and brought them inside a UFO.  The boys saw the Bigfoot sit in a chair while inside the UFO, and saw a device with wires placed upon its head.

A case from  Clearwater, Colorado in 1977 tells of a witness who observed two beings near a UFO who could apparently control a Bigfoot through the use of a black box device, which they warned the witness not to touch.

Easter weekend 1977, Steve Bismark from Snohomish, Washington said he saw a dark-haired Bigfoot lowered from a large silver disk that was hovering over the trees near his rural home.

May 29, 1973 Anthony Dorsey Nr Sykesville, MD made first sighting of Bigfoot with luminous eyes. This was after a UFO was seen dropping an object into a nearby reservoir. Other people reported seeing an 8-ft black-haired Bigfoot the same date.

Early Oct, 1973 Galveston, IN. J.M. saw Bigfoot on 2 occasions, also lights or UFOs in the same area.

Feb 6, 1974 in Uniontown, PA a woman & son-in-law saw Bigfoot disappear when shot at; others close by seen UFO activity.

Stan Gordon on UFO's & Bigfoot
Stan Gordon founded the first of three volunteer research groups in Pennsylvania which would investigate multitudes of paranormal reports over many years. Since 1993, he's documented these occurrences as an independent researcher.

Stan Gordon: From my earliest days of research in regards to the Bigfoot phenomena, and as I began to investigate some local Bigfoot encounters, I felt that the evidence was pointing to the possibility that these observations were likely of some yet unknown zoological specimen. Then in 1973, a major series of unusual events began to unfold here in the Keystone State.

It was during that period of time that cases occurred which suggested that the Bigfoot phenomena was much more unusual and complicated than I could have ever imagined. My first research unit, the Westmoreland County UFO Study Group (WCUFOSG) which was established in 1970, was by that time very active and had taken on a level of respectability across the state. UFO and Bigfoot reports were frequently being referred to the WCUFOSG to investigate from law enforcement agencies and the news media.

Among my volunteer research group were scientists, engineers, technicians, retired military specialists, etc., who could provide an open, minded investigation into the cases reported. It became apparent that many reports of UFOs, Bigfoot, and other phenomena could in many cases be explained as misidentification's of natural or man made objects. There were on occasion hoax cases as well. There were however, strange encounters being reported yearly that were not so easily dismissed.

Starting on January 1, 1973, and continuing all year long, reports of strange lights and mysterious aerial objects were being commonly reported across the state. As 1973 continued to be very active with UFO incidents, the events that began to unfold that summer became much more interesting and very unusual. A major outbreak of encounters with Bigfoot creatures was being reported from widespread areas across southwest Pennsylvania as well as other areas. This series of creature encounters went on for months into 1974. As described in detail in my book, "Silent Invasion, The Pennsylvania UFO-Bigfoot Casebook", there were days when multiple Bigfoot encounters were reported from widely separated locations.

In many cases there were daylight observations where the creatures were observed at close range. In other instances, there was more than one creature observed together. As the sightings continued, some of the details of the encounters became much stranger.

Among the oddities reported were cases where both a UFO and a Bigfoot were observed at the same time and place. In one case, a UFO was observed on or near the ground and two Bigfoot creatures were observed in the same field. After the object departed and the creatures went into the woods, a state trooper who came to the scene to investigate observed a glowing area on the ground where the object had rested a short time before.

These reports were coming in from the general public from various statewide locations. These cases were investigated soon after they occurred, and as unusual as the incidents might have been, they could not be dismissed. It soon became apparent to myself and other investigators that there were other aspects to the Bigfoot phenomena that could not be ignored.

There is a small percentage of cases however where observers have seen both a UFO and Bigfoot at the same time and location. From the reports I have received from across the country and around the world, such cases might be much more common, but many researchers have been reluctant to publish such accounts for fear of ridicule from their peers. I don't know what if any direct connection exists between UFOs and Bigfoot, but it is my position not to pretend that such cases do not exit, but to try to find some answers and to encourage others to share such accounts.

Is Bigfoot a Spirit, Ghost or Interdimensional Being?
Perhaps Bigfoot is an ancient Earth spirit, like an Elemental? There are many reports of Bigfoot vanishing into thin air like a spirit. This creature could possibly be from another dimension, observing our world.

Some Native American elders regard Bigfoot as standing on the "border" between animal-style consciousness and human-style consciousness, which gives him a special kind of power. In Native American culture, unlike western culture, animals are not regarded as "inferior" to humans but rather as "elder brothers" and "teachers" of humans.

Bigfoot Vanishes
Quote: “After returning from a long hike, the group was stunned when a nine-to-ten foot Sasquatch stepped out in front of them a short distance away.  Then, in the twinkling of an eye, the Bigfoot completely disappeared in front of the witnesses!  The witnesses insisted that it literally dematerialized!  Mrs. Jeffrey reported that she was so awed at what she saw, that when they returned home, she did not leave the house for two weeks.  The woman was in such a total state of shock that she did not return to the area for some time.”

Does Bigfoot Travel Through Portals?
A Southern New Mexico man was interviewed on July 7, 2004, which corroborates Larry Kelm’s experience about Bigfoot and portals.  When we went camping that weekend I noticed immediately that the area was rich in granodiorite rock (a plutonic rock which is a granite-diorite mix – you will see why this is important later on), and that it is located on the rainshadow (desert) side of a mountain, adjacent to the Ruidoso, NM area where a “hot spot” of Bigfoot activity is currently being investigated by numerous Bigfoot researchers, (including the BFRO).  I directly went to the campground host where we were camping at and asked him point blank, “How many Bigfoot sightings have you heard of around here?.”  I asked, not IF, but “how many” on purpose, because everything in me told me that there was no way a Bigfoot sighting wouldn’t have occurred in that area, and linguistics (wording) of the questions to a stranger can make or break the answer that’s given on such a touchy subject.  I figured I’d hear him tell me of some incident that some campers had seen or heard of once, but instead the campground host himself told me of his own sighting he had. This is what he told me…

In summer of either 2000 or 2001 John Bohannon witnessed a creature he called Bigfoot on a small ridge next to a hill located just west of the Three Rivers Campground, and lies north of Alamogordo, NM (west of Ruidoso on the west side of the mountain).  During daylight hours John was traveling east on the dirt road in his truck when he glanced over to his right and noticed a tall hairy ape-like creature walking in the same direction as he was driving.  It was taller than the cholla cacti nearby (estimated by John to be at least 8' tall) and it looked toward John as it kept walking.  It's arms hung longer than it's knees, and had short brown hair with a reddish tinge all over it's body.  The only long hair was underneath it's forearms, and the shortest hair was at it's lower back/buttocks area.  With knees slightly bent, but otherwise standing upright, the long-striding creature kept walking eastward, still staring at John, for approximately 100' until it seemed to vanish into thin air.  A juniper tree was near where the Bigfoot creature disappeared but the creature did not appear to walk behind it.  Because of this strange aspect John thought it must've walked into an invisible wall of some kind, but was unsure of just what happened (portal or some sort of camouflage?).  John's best description of the Bigfoot's face was that of a "Neanderthal" being neither quite ape, nor quite human, but like a combination of both.

The following quote is from “Path of the Skin walker” by George Knapp
“Some very strange things have happened at the precise spot where I'm sitting. It is here that a visitor was accosted by a roaring but nearly invisible creature, something akin to the Predator of movie fame. It is here that a Ph.D. physicist reported that his mind was invaded, literally taken over, by some sort of hostile intelligence that warned him that he was not welcome. It is here that an entire team of researchers watched in awe as a bright door or portal opened up in the darkness and a large humanoid creature crawled out before quickly vanishing. And it is here that several animals--cattle and dogs--were mutilated, obliterated or simply disappeared.”

Does Bigfoot Travel & Live Underground?
There are many Native American legends of Bigfoot like creatures living in Caves, as well as from around the world.

A report of a possible Bigfoot camouflage effect is based on the Horizon City Monster account by Ms. Montanez who lives in the desert east of El Paso, TX.  She first spotted the Bigfoot hunched over a dead coyote by the edge of the highway out in the desert.  As she drove closer the creature stood up, walked up a mesquite mound and jogged down the other side.  She said his head was originally taller than the mound, and yet he kept appearing to go down and down and down (step-wise), into the ground!  Although Montanez could not see the Bigfoot actually entering the ground (due to the small mound being in the way), she insisted that there had to have been a cave it entered.  She left and returned the following day to find the coyote gone, any footprints swiped by the winds, and no apparent cave entrance!  She then concluded that the Bigfoot must've had a trap door hidden under the dirt which he entered, although she could not find it.  Realize that Ms. Montanez was attempting to rationalize what she saw to explain an unexplainable "disappearance" of Bigfoot.  The biggest question is not necessarily did he go into the ground but how did he make her THINK he went into the ground if he did not?  Or better yet, where did he actually go?

Throughout the 1970’s several credible reports came from the Palmdale-Lancaster area of the Mojave Desert. Of key interest here was the activity reported on and around Edwards Air Force Base where several military personnel reported that they had watched Sasquatches walk through the base at night through starlight scopes. This activity was “Classified” by the military, as it was on the other bases mentioned above.

The personnel who reported this did so anonymously, and further stated that these animals were not reported to the public in order to avoid embarrassment on the government’s behalf, since they could not explain what these creatures were, or how they got on the base in such a high security area; admitting this would show a lack of security. The personnel said that they were told not to fire upon the creatures, just observe.

They said the creatures walked through the area nightly, sometimes for several nights in a row, then would stop appearing. They had also been filmed by surveillance cameras, but the tapes were classified. Edwards has hundreds of miles of underground tunnel systems, and these creatures often found their way into the tunnels as well.

Different Types of Bigfoot
These large, bipedal apes occur in the folklore of native people across the globe. legends of these creatures have been told for centuries. Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti, Skunk Apes, Yowies, Almas, Kaptars & Mapinguari are just a few of it's many names. Here's a list of some of the most famous Bigfoot-like creatures.

SASQUATCH
“Sasquatch” is a derivative of “Sesquac,” which means “wild man” in a British Columbian Native American language.

YETI
Stalking the high elevations of the Himalayas, the Yeti has captured the interest of the western world since climbers began tackling peaks like Everest. Local tribes consider the Yeti to be a fact of life, no more strange than the black bears of Appalachia. Reports from Western climbers are frequent throughout the last hundred years, so frequent that even Sir Edmund Hillary himself mounted an expedition in search of the massive man-ape.

ALMAS
Another variety of Bigfoot, this creature lives in the mountainous terrain on the border of Mongolia and China. It's more human-like than our Bigfoot; some scientists believe it's more of a Neanderthal than a primate.

SISIMITE
This is the ape-man of Central America. The shaggy-haired creature is said to have supernatural powers, which it uses to protect the wilderness. According to legend, the Sisimite will attack hunters in order to protect wildlife.

SKUNK APE
The Southernmost Bigfoot to occupy North America, the Skunk Ape is a resident of Florida’s extensive Everglades. Some say it is a cousin to Bigfoot, while others say it's the same species. The number of sightings of the Skunk Ape in Florida rival the number sightings of Bigfoot in the Pacific Northwest. The animal earned its name because of its unique smell.

Our Bigfoot Conclusion
The theory that Bigfoot is a wild animal relying on instinct to evade detection is highly unlikely. However, a more supernatural theory like Bigfoot is an extraterrestrial being, Spirit or Interdimensional creature of some kind is far more probable. Anything is possible in this Universe and until we open our minds to the possibility that other entities do exist beyond Earth and our dimension, we may never fully understand the Bigfoot mystery.

  1. I believe that bigfoot exist...this goes back about 200 years with the native americans knowing of this creature and I think with folklore there is truth. https://hauntedpages.wordpress.com/
